Veyra Weekly – Vol. 28
This week, Veyra Weekly spotlights two designers working through absence, tension, and physical construction — the raw leather tailoring of Numb Label and the sculptural, rope-built garments of Luo Qingyang.
Numb Label – Absence Leather Jacket
Numb Label’s Absence Leather Jacket explores decay and restraint through precise construction. Crafted from genuine lambskin leather with a thickness of 1.1–1.2mm, the jacket maintains a substantial feel while remaining fluid on the body.
Design details are intentional and exposed. A high collar, lace-up detailing along the left front panel, and sculpted panel cuts shape the garment with tension and asymmetry. The surface is treated with a frayed finish, while raw-cut hems and sleeves leave edges intentionally unresolved.
Industrial elements — including a solid metal zipper and rust-resistant hardware — ground the piece in durability, reinforcing the contrast between structure and erosion.

Luo Qingyang – Rope Dress
Luo Qingyang approaches fashion as sculpture, and their rope dress stands as a physical expression of labor, weight, and form. Constructed entirely from thick, off-white cords, the garment is built using traditional macramé techniques including knotting, braiding, and weaving.
Density shifts throughout the piece. The upper bodice is tightly knotted to maintain a structured, body-hugging silhouette, while the lower half opens into diamond-shaped netting, introducing transparency and movement.
The most striking feature is the elongated, fringed hem — dozens of loose ropes trail downward, creating a shredded, organic skirt that sways heavily with motion. Near the base, coiled and bunched rope sections add visual weight, anchoring the piece while emphasizing its sculptural presence.
This is avant-garde fashion rooted in physical construction rather than surface aesthetics.
Brand: Luo Qingyang
Why We Like It: A radical use of traditional craft to create a contemporary, sculptural silhouette.
