Veyra Weekly – Vol. 25

This week, Veyra Weekly spotlights two underground designers exploring dramatic collar construction, tailored silhouettes, and sculptural draping — the commanding outerwear of q1101 and the asymmetrical denim experimentation of Troubled Waters.

q1101 – Cinis Jacket Series (Bellator / Vindictor / Praesidium)

q1101’s Cinis Jacket Series is defined by restraint, precision, and a striking sense of presence. The standout Bellator jacket leads the lineup, joined by the Vindictor and Praesidium, each built around the same core design language.

The most defining element is the extraordinarily high, structured collar, designed to be worn fully raised — partially concealing the face — or folded down for a more traditional silhouette. Secured with a line of snap buttons, the collar transforms the jacket from understated to imposing in seconds.

Constructed from a structured black fabric, all three variations maintain a slim, tailored fit through the body and arms. The result is a refined, long-sleeved jacket that feels ceremonial yet wearable, blending modern tailoring with an almost uniform-like authority.

Troubled Waters – Spiral Denim Jacket

Troubled Waters approaches denim through a sculptural lens with the Spiral Denim Jacket, a piece driven by asymmetry and controlled draping. The most striking feature is the high, manipulated collar — gathered and wrapped around the neck and shoulder to create a scarf-like or hooded effect when fully fastened.

The jacket’s diagonal snap-button closure runs from the left shoulder down toward the right side of the body, shaping the garment as it closes. Large, exposed metal snaps act as both functional hardware and visual anchors, reinforcing the jacket’s architectural feel.

As the snaps fasten, the fabric naturally folds and spirals across the torso, giving the jacket its signature form. The result is a denim piece that feels dynamic and intentional — less about symmetry, more about movement and shape.
